Stubbington - Day 3

Today began with checking whether our small mammal hotels had had overnight visitors - sadly not.  But we did meet Chloe, a small pregnant fieldmouse and did some close observations and research.

Next we said goodbye to Mrs Williams and welcome to Mrs Wilson and it was a few team games, lunch and straight off to the beach for sculptures and a fabulous fossil hunt.  We were told we found the largest shark tooth ever discovered in the Stubbington area!

More team games and some clay work, recreating Chloe before house games and back to the hide to see if the badgers wanted to come out to play again.

We have some stunning photographs of the day, which we will try to share when we get home, but here are a few to give you a taster!

Stubbington - Day 2

Day 2 found us all enjoying some more fabulous weather, and after room inspections we set off at a brisk pace to the seafront and Lee On The Solent to do a bit of comparative study with Basingstoke.  Back for lunch we investigated the Stubbington Conservation area - finding burrows and prints of all sorts of creatures and making mammal hotels.  We will see whether anyone occupies them overnight tomorrow!  Finally we made some smelly potions and created natures pallet before heading off for a talk on wildlife photography.
Rest assured all is very well and we are all being very well looked after, especially in the food department!
Thank you to all the parents who have sent letters - delivered every lunchtime!
